Chao Races and Badnik Bases, Part 4 is issue 36 of IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic run.
Description
Rouge the Bat’s efforts to procure new parts for her demolished robotic friend Omega are suddenly interrupted by the evil Dr. Starline. Starline hypnotizes Rouge to kidnap Tails so he can have them both in his possession as his test subjects. He tries to make off with the bound prisoners via a rollercoaster, but when Sonic and Shadow pursue him Starline gives the two hedgehogs an ultimatum: They can save Rouge and Tails, or they can stop an avalanche he has just set off. This acts as the cliffhanger ending for Issue #35.
Issue #36 follows up on that cliffhanger. While Rouge quietly cuts away at the ropes binding her, Tails insist that the Chateau threatened by the avalanche be prioritized. Sonic is persuaded, but Shadow remains focused only on getting Dr. Starline. A clear look at Rouge tied up is shown Shadow moves past her, the last before Rouge manages to free herself.
