Chao Races and Badnik Bases, Part 3 is issue 35 of IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic run.
Description
When Omega’s robotic body is demolished, Sonic and friends have to out of their way to figure out how to repair him. Sonic and Tails infiltrate an abandoned Eggman base to search for decryption data that will help Tails decipher Eggman’s eccentric coding style, while Rouge spearheads an effort to enter Cream’s chao Cheese into a chao race to win scavenged E-series robot parts from a shady chao trainer.
After going on her own to discuss terms for the E-series parts, Rouge is unexpectantly confronted by Eggman’s estranged minion Dr. Starline. Starline left Rouge with subliminal orders to capture Tails when the two make contact to check their progress.
Issue 35’s scene starts with Rouge and Tails tied up side-by-side in a roller coaster car, which the overly theatric Starline has decided to use as his getaway vehicle. Rouge attempts to get Tails up to speed on how she was hypnotized to collect him, but Starline cuts in to provide the explanation himself. He intends to keep Rouge and Tails as test subjects. Sonic arrives for a timely intervention, but Dr. Starline sets off an avalanche to make Sonic choose between saving his prisoners and saving everyone who will be buried in the snow.
