Take Me to Your Leader is the 29th story of the British spy-thriller series "Modesty Blaise" running from 1963 to 2002 (both as comic strips in newspapers and full story volumes). The Series focuses on the adventures of the eponymous former criminal working for the british secret service.
Description
A renowned Professor, on a scientific field trip sponsored by a millionaire, reports an UFO and Alien sighting on island to the british Secret Service. Sir Tarrant who recruited Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin as (loosely affiliated) Agents decides to head out to the Millionaires Yacht to check on things. He asks Modesty and Willie to accompany him. The two decide to head out to the island where the Ufo landed.
After an attempt to scare them away doesnt work its quickly revealed that all aboard the Yacht, except for the Professor and Sir Tarrant are in on the scam. Modesty and Willie are lead by gunpoint to the groups hideout on the isle from where things were orchestrated. They learn that the group intends to use claim of intelligent Alien life being seen on earth to unify the world, ending all wars as mankind focuses on space. As the group needs some time to decide on what to do with Modesty and Willie both have their wrists bound with steel wires behind their back and locked into a shed.
When they catch wind that the group plans to execute them they make an escape attempt. They overwhelm the person entering the shed to shoot them and kicking their way through the group in front of the shed, running out of the camp. When the two are cornered on a cliff overlooking the sea Willie manages to free himself. His fingers are too numb to free Modesty though and with their pursuers converging on them the only option for them is to jump. Modesty manages to get her bound hands to the front during the fall, surviving the impact slightly bruised. Willie survives as well and together they seek shelter in a Grotto.
