Big Scare in the Big Easy is the fourth episode of the first season of What's New, Scooby-Doo?, the ninth incarnation of the long-running Scooby-Doo cartoon. This show ran from September 2002 to July 2006.

The episode involves Mystery Incorporated investigating a graveyard in New Orleans, where a pair of ghosts from the Civil War reenact a duel every night. At some point during the investigation, Daphne Blake vanishes, leaving the rest of the gang to search for her. By dialing her cell phone, Shaggy manages to hear a ringtone, and he and Scooby follow the sound to a mausoleum.

Daphne is on her knees inside, her arms bound behind her with rope and her voice muffled by an OTM gag. When Shaggy and Scooby-Doo rush inside, the mausoleum door slams shut behind them, trapping them inside in darkness.

After a brief scene with Fred and Velma, the episode cuts back to the mausoleum, where a panicking Shaggy only remembers to remove Daphne's gag after some muffled grunts. She explains that she was kidnapped by the ghosts as Shaggy tries to untie her, but the knots are tied to tightly to loosen. He uses a few drops of hot sauce to burn through the ropes, and Daphne is freed.
