Das Monster der Lagune ("The Monster of the Lagoon") is the 411th issue of Spuk Geschichten ("Haunted Stories"), a German comic anthology series primarily following the exploits of the 17th century demon hunter Arsat.

In the eponymous main story, tentacles burst from the canals in venice, randomly grabbing people and dragging them under water, only for them to emerge as "living" skeletons.

In the story "Die Botschaft aus dem Jenseits" ("The Message from the beyond") Marie, the daughter of a well to do nobleman, has a suitor, her parents though have other plans for her and try to hide her away in her aunts mansion which they inherited when she passed away. The suitor finds her anyway, her father handgagging her so she cant reply to his calls.
