Der Magier aus dem Zauberball ("The Wizard out of the Magic-Ball") is the 49thissue of Spuk Geschichten ("Haunted Stories"), a German comic anthology series primarily following the exploits of the 17th century demon hunter Arsat.
Description
In the story "Im Verlies des schwarzen Grafen" (In the Dungeon of the Black Count) Duke Dylans half-sister and Count Cristoffer, her husband, plot to claim the duke´s throne for themself, after he suprisingly go married and was given a daughter by his wife (essentially ending his half-sisters hopes of ever becoming duchess). They do so by kidnapping his wife, imprisoning her in a dungeon and when the duke comes to rescue her, they collapse the ceiling on both of them. The daughter, Eva, not yet of age to rule would be under their tutelage (and an easy target for assassination). Not believing in an accident Eva intends to ride to the kings court, to seek his judgement. The Count and his wife have her ambushed and imprisoned as well, so they can rule "in her name" without anyone knowing Eva is held captive.
