Der Henker von Venedig ("The Hangman of Venice") is the 48th issue of Spuk Geschichten ("Haunted Stories"), a German comic anthology series primarily following the exploits of the 17th century demon hunter Arsat.
Description
In the story "Die Hexe aus der Flammenkugel" ("The Witch out of the flaming Globe"), a medieval peasant couple watch a flaming sphere going down near the village. They find an unconcious girl at the place and choose to adpot her. When the girl manifests violent magic powers in the defense of herself and her adopted parents the local Count takes note. Wanting to have the "witches" power und his command. He threatens to kill the adopted parents and takes the girl, bound and blindfolded, to his castle.
